The Return to Topcats - Round 2

This year they returned for round 2 but this time with their friends, Jonathan and Harry Glenn, another father and son combo.

They were staying for 7 nights with 4 full days fishing. Just like all the best sequels this trip was maybe even better.

Ian kindly just sent through the catch report with 180 fish across 10 species with an average weight of 42lb per fish. There are Arapaima to over 300lbs, 100lb+Mekong Cats and Carp to 80lb.

Everyday there was a competition that between sons and fathers which normally the former seemed to win and that and that extended to the nightly pool tournaments that occurred in the bar till 11pm

The competition extended to golf at Santaburi Golf Club. This is an 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course of 6500 + yards set in the picturesque hills above Maenam. A very tough course I am told, and our very own Paul Winchester ran out the Stapleford winner on the day.

New for the boys was a TopCats Tour, The private longboat to Pig Island and coral Island followed by a chilled lunch at the French Kiss. They absolutely loved the whole experience.

Of course, the whole trip wouldn’t be the same without a night out in Chaweng and another one in Lamai with yours truly. The highlights were the regular haunts, Jimmy Woos and the Speed Bar and a few other places we won’t mention.
