Team Building : French Kiss Bash
This weekend we hosted the French Kiss bar and restaurant for some team building as Mano and Didi hired the lake for the afternoon. With 12 staff and friends fishing they teamed into pairs and Mano put up numerous team prizes and TopCats contributed all the individual prizes.
It was a super-hot afternoon, and we expected the fishing to be slow, but again our remarkable lake proved us wrong. The “smaller” carp went on a feeding frenzy triggered by the monsoon rain we had the previous week. The lake is full of cool oxygenated water.
The format was the same as the Battle of the Bars, 2 rods, 1 bait pack and 1kg boilies pack per team. There were 6 teams of 2 fishing for 4 hours.
The action was non-stop with 59 fish, 6 species and total weight of 2685lb. I say small Carp, but the average still seems to be 40lb+.
The winning team weight came from The Deep Water, Tony, and Alex (and a little help from Tony’s son Mai Mai) amassed 17 fish for an incredible 745lb. This peg is becoming a real flyer winning the last 3 competitions here at TopCats. The most fish were caught on the prolific Heavens Point where Nikolas and Melo netted 19 fish, including the Ripsaw judged by Doy, as best fish of the day.
One prize no one wanted was the Booby prize which was for the smallest fish. Pee Nong, Maz and Sugar fishing on the Carp Channel collected that for the 5lb Asian Redtail. On a better note, they also won the prize for most species, 4 : Alligator Gar, Siamese Carp , Asian Redtail and Pacu.
Induvial Prizes (sponsored by TopCats )
Biggest Fish: 120lb Arapaima (Alex)
Best Fish: 35lb Ripsaw Cat
Best Photo Mekong Cat (Pee Toy)
Smallest Fish 5lb Asian Redtail (Pee Nong)
Another great team building event, food and drink flowed and was served direct to the fishing Salas
