After arriving on the beautiful island of Koh Samui on the 3rd September 2022, we stayed overnight at the hotel Nori Buri in Chaweng, It  was lovely, but the next day the excitement grew for me has I was heading to the well renown  Topcats Fishing Resort.

After  a quick 45 minutes drive there, we was welcomed by Simon the owner. Me and my wife booked the deal of 2 1/2 days fishing with accommodation in a deluxe room. The room was clean, spacious and had a TV with multiple channels of your enjoyment.

As for the the fishing, well what can I say!!

I started the half day at 2 pm and was hooked up within 10 minutes, a lovely 50lb Siamese carp, 15 more carp followed by a Mekong, 2 Asian Redtail, and an Amazon Redtail.

Day 2 resulted in 25 carp to 65lb, 2 Asian Catfish, Pacu, Alligator Gar, Amazon Redtail, Arapaima, and a Tambaqui which was a known fish to the lake and Simon has now named the fish after me (Burty) which I was chuffed about.

Day 3 resulted in a pb Arapaima at 270lb plus on other about 120lb, 14 Carp to 70lb, Giant Gourami, 2 Asian Redtails and a Amazon Redtail, so has you can read the fishing was amazing.

My wife had the pleasure of the pool to herself so she was in her element. The guides, especially Tadpole, were there to help and were amazing. Simon the owner what a true gent always going out of his way to help us. The  visit for us was 5/5 !!
