It was July 2019, and I was fishing at my mates lake in France (La Petite Martiniere). We are both members of Anglers Against Cancer and after a few beers we decided to put a bid in for a trip of a lifetime to Topcats, which was kindly donated to the charity by Simon. To our surprise we won the auction and we were off to Topcats in March 2020.

As we walked through the Topcats entrance we were greeted by Simon and the lovely view of the lake and bungalows which was our home for the week.

After a good nights sleep we were ready to do battle and meet our guide for the week Art, who couldn’t do enough for us.

From day one the fishing was amazing and the alarms would not stop. Siamese, Redtails, Arapaima and Mekong’s to name some of the species we had.

I’ve caught a few fish over my time as a carp angler but nothing like these. Whether you are an experienced or a novice angler this place is for you to have a fishing trip of a lifetime.
