We originally won this fishing holiday in 2021 in support of Anglers Against Cancer. Simon the owner donates weeks stay and fishing for 2 people as a prize to an amazing charity.

I was lucky enough to win the auction and try and get some of the fish off my bucket list. Simon, Paul, and the guides can’t do enough for you – our guide Doy was there 8am-8pm giving advice, changing rigs, baiting up etc. I caught a total of 104 fish over the 6 days:

Siamese x 79 (80lb+)

Arapaima x 1 (250lb+)

Mekong x 9 (60lb+)

Ripsaw catfish x 1

Alligator Gar x 1

Amazon Redtail catfish x 5

Asian Redtail catfish x 4

Pacu x 3

Gourami x 1

I managed to tick one off the bucket list – an amazing 250lb + Arapaima, what a fight, and one that I had to battle with in the water.  Also, I caught several Mekong’s, another great battle for anyone that hasn’t caught one. A rare Ripsaw Catfish was also caught, great to handle if you are a carp angler as you do not want to grip or pull it into you – spikes on the lateral line, many of them, but what an amazing fish.  Anyone thinking of coming to Thailand and want to have a day/week of catching some amazing fish, with great hosts and guides, then TopCats is the place for you.
