After a two-year break from fishing at TopCats Fishing Resort, I returned in December 2021. The fishing resort was under new management and TopCats looked great.

The fishing was fantastic and there was plenty of great catches. I had the opportunity to fish at different pegs and the action was non-stop. The fish I caught ranged in weight from 40lbs to my largest of 300lbs. I had a variety of species including Arapaima, Alligator Gar, Pacu, Tambaqui and the Redtail, Siamese, Ripsaw and Mekong Catfish. TopCats Guides are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the lake and how to catch the various species. The highlight of my fishing bonanza was beating my personal record, which was 270lbs but now 300lbs. 

I cannot recommend TopCats enough, the fishing is amazing, the location perfect and the owner Simon is a true gentleman. The hospitality is second to none and the onsite restaurant serves delicious food straight to your peg. My partner who doesn’t fish would sometimes come with me and would spend the day lounging by the pool and found it the most peaceful place to have some quiet time.

Returning to TopCats is high on my list, hopefully later this year
