Koh Samui Sunsets
Just seen the article linked below in the Thaiger which referenced its top 5 sunsets bars on Koh Samui.
I am sure all are good, but all will be expensive and many do not even face to the west, therefore I will offer you my favourite hangouts to try at sunset time for stunning views of a burning sun as it slips majestically below the horizon

Intercontinental Hotel
Situated very close to us and for sure this is one of the best hotels on the island. The Air Bar with its cliffside location is a great place to hangout with the lady of you life as the sun sets below the Gulf of Thailand.
The Island View
Sits right on Taling Ngam beach, great view and happy hour coincides with the sunset time. Another secret hideaway that serves some of the best Thai food on Koh Samui.
The next 3 places are in Ban Markham , a small village just the other side on the port town of Nathon.
Shinelay is a Thai owned Surf bar that serves great food and there is live music there on many nights. It’s an ultimate chill bar and for this correspondent has a great selection of spiced rums.
Similar is the For Rest Bar which really is a a lot more what I call spit and sawdust but again a fabulous place to take in the sunset and a cocktail, which are some of the strongest I have tasted.
Aromi diversi
One of my favourite Italian Restaurants on the Island. Friendly owner serving up traditional Italian cuisine at a reasonable price that you can enjoy with a nice glass of Chianti while watching the sun go down.
The sunsets are amazing and the fishing is spectacular.
