If Carlsberg Did Predator Pegs?

TopCats Swim Number 9 has to be one of the best predator swims in Thailand and maybe even the world.

Situated in Arapaima bay it has achieved legendary status and today many people travel from all over the world to fish our Arapaima swim. That said is it is a premium swim and this week it was fished for only the 3rd time since Covid reared its ugly head in March 2020.

We welcomed UK angler, Mark Collins here with his good lady Claudia, who I must say took some good pictures. The day was overcast and actually we had some much needed rain.

Mark did the normal 5 hour session and suffice to say the swim was as good as ever.

Mark wasn’t only after the Arapaima but all predator fish in general. The action was pretty much non-stop with the first Arapaima coming out after just 30 mins followed in quick succession by 2 more.

The Redtails were feeding well, he had Asian and Amazon varieties and even caught that well known predator fish, the Pacu, who I am convinced will eat absolutely anything.

Quite a bit of the session was spent on trying to catch the Big Alligator Gar that inhabit the peg, but after numerous missed runs and bite offs he only managed one, which must be one of the smallest in the Lake?

At the end of the day Mark caught the 4th and largest Arapaima and left I think a very happy man, in need of a good massage and rest.

There has never been a better time to fish here at TopCats , open air, social distancing and fully vaccinated guides. In particular we have some great rates and we are offering a 20% discount on Arapaima fishing on our legendary peg.

Just a quick update on the travel, Thailand is experiencing a surge in Covid caused by the delta Variant, but touch wood Samui numbers are quite low now. The Samui Sand Box seems to be working well offering vaccinated a sealed route direct to the island. The Phuket sandbox has been going longer and is more successful , in fact Mark used it to travel in from his usual Hong Kong base and found it straight forward.
