We stayed at TopCats with our friends for 3 nights in the lovely bungalows by the lake.

The hosts Simon and Paul are the most accommodating people you could possibly meet and not just for the fishing. Our wives were offered loads of different day trips so as to not have to spend all day with us fishermen. The longboat tour to Pig Island seemed to go down really well.

Food on site is great. You can have Thai or good old fashion English food if you like your home cooked steak pies, fish and chips, ploughman’s lunch or just a sandwich and chips. Pad Thai was delicious. It is all well priced, and the portions are big. The staff come round throughout the day to see if you want any drinks or anything to eat.

Now to the fishing. The most important part! Just amazing!

Between us we caught over 60 fish over the 2 1/2 days. Arapaima up to 135lb. Siamese carp to 90lb, with numerous 50’s and 60’s. Amazon Redtails to 60lb. Mekong Cats to 60lb,Alligator Gar’s ,Asian Redtails, Tilapia and Pacu to around 20lbs. The guides are top quality and really know their stuff. You could be a seasoned angler back in the UK but listen to your guides. They will catch you fish, after all its a guaranteed catch policy, and you will catch. We were the only people staying on site, but every day people were turning up for half a day or full day packages and everyone caught. If you like your fishing, we can’t recommend TopCats highly enough. AWESOME !!!!!
