Double hook up of the century
Rob Ferrey fished Heaven’s Point and this week landed our friendly Platinum Redtail also known as Casper. This hard fighting albino is the star of a recent blog on our website that you can read here. Casper normally weighs in about 40 lbs. There is only one in our Lake, but we are fairly sure this fish is one of, if not, the largest fish in the world.
Rob was here yesterday with Malcolm, Dan, and Matt (newly arrived on the Island from Qatar). At the same time as Rob was landing Casper, Dan was into a bigger fish, another impressive catch and again possibly the biggest in the World. The breath-taking Ripsaw Catfish is one of three exceptionally large ones that you can go at here but this one is the biggest and is estimated 65-70lb. You can read for about them on the here.
This double hook up is, perhaps, one of the greatest seen at TopCats in its history, so we commemorated the event with a few beers, a trip to the Salad Bar in Nathon and an impromptu prize giving with Dan getting a fishing shirt and Rob, the TopCats polo shirt.
Our merchandise is available to buy, and the prices can be checked out here.
Just for clarification, even though these are potentially world record fish the IGFA do not recognise fish caught in Thailand for world record purposes.
