A full well oxygenated lake and English summer-like conditions made for a perfect afternoon’s fishing.

A few personnel changes for this one. Paul was in the UK, so Andy and Frank stepped in for the Login Bar. Ash made an appearance for the Marvels, and it was good to see the Summerhouse owner Elliot back in the fray with his normal partner, Brian. Tony was let down at the last minute so his young son and future TopCats fishing guide Mai Mai helped him in the French Kiss team. Conspicuous by his absence, Rob Ferrey was busy and sadly it’s the first of these events he has missed.

The French Kiss were in the Coconut Swim (the lake match record winning peg from last time) and they raced away into an early lead, but everyone one was in with a chance at half way as fishing did hit a few flat spots. Tony as he continued to catch carp with regularity though , eventually landing 14 up to 80lb for a match winning weight of 685lb.

Coco Beach Bar from Heavens Point, aided by 2 lumpy Mekong, including 1 that, came second with dead on 500lbs and in a very close race for 3^rd Summerhouse in Redtail Haven just prevailed with 395lb.

Just the 4 species but 56 fish and an average weight of just under 44lbs the 4 hour session  still provides some incredible reading and shows why we have Thailand’s premier runs water

Its very pleasing to see these events have become good social occasions with many locals coming down just for the Craic and with the World Cup on and a new snooker table in use the craic went on long after the match finished !!

Spare a thought for our guide and pool expert, Ben who was humbled by Malcolm 3-0. Our new pool table is one of the best on Samui and at 9ft provides a real challenge if you ever fancy a challenge.

As for the league, Login Bar are still in pole position but with 2 events to go and the very trick Predator Corner Peg up next, they could still be caught by the French Kiss.
