The 12^th and final round was fished in hot but breezy conditions, and in the last hour the weather really changed with monsoon like rain falling. There was a good turnout, mainly thanks to some TopCats customers substituting in for teams that were unable to make it.

Even though the league title was already secured by The Login Bar, the honour of being runner up was up for grabs and the annual prizes still in play for biggest fish, best fish, and best match weight.

The event was quite slow in comparison to other events, the Carp are not quite as ravenous as TopCats is busier now in these post Covid times. Even so the 4-hour match produced 35 fish for 1470lbs ,with an average of 42lbs per fish.

As per the norm in these events which are restricted to 1kg of boilies and 1 bait pack per team, Carp made the running, with a smattering of Mekong. The early leaders were the Coco Beach team with Ondrej and Steve (a professional river carp angler from France) catching well from the Coconut Swim but as their catch rate slowed, SWS with TopCats Customers, Wisey and Ian (the Police) began to catch from Heavens Point. These two know what they are doing as they had previously caught 840lb in the February 2022 event from Deep Water when fishing for The Login. They caught the most fish, 10, but the stamp was small (for TopCats standards) but were eventually overhauled by The Login Bar fishing on Redtail Haven. The usual paring of TopCats part owner, Paul and his wife caught a better stamp of fish including the 1^st 100 for Shona and the first 100 in the competition in 3 years.

To be honest Paul does seem to have cracked it having won 4 out of the last 6 rounds and Login Bar and they ran out deserving winners of the series. The French Kiss had their own end of season party on the difficult Predator Corner Swim and help on for an honourable 2^nd place overall.
