New Fish Stocking at TopCats: Tigers, Shovelnoses, and More!

If you have ever visited TopCats, you know there is certainly no shortage of action at TopCats. However, we believe that staying at the top of our game means constantly investing in our stock. While many might think stocking is as simple as “adding fish” any fishery owner will tell you it’s a tricky, non-precise art that requires a delicate balance.

Over the past few years, we’ve worked hard to diversify our waters, introducing everything from Tambaqui and Arapaima to Chinese and Indian Carp, along with some monster Mekong Catfish and Wels.

This week, the diversity at TopCats just got even better.

Welcome the "New Recruits": 17 Beautiful New Additions

We are so pleased to announce that we’ve added 17 stunning fish to our lake. These fish were selected for their health, their striking patterns, and—most importantly—their expected growth rate and ongoing catchability

Our new arrivals include:

  • 11 Shovelnose Tiger Catfish: Known for their unique profile and aggressive takes.
  • 6 Tiger Redtail Catfish: A stunning hybrid that combines the power of a Redtail with the patterns of a Tiger.

More Spots and More Stripes

The first thing you’ll notice about these recruits is their markings. The Shovelnose Tigers have a breathtaking bluish sheen that looks incredible in the sunlight or starlight, for that matter.

In fact, these Shovelnoses represent a brand new species for our waters. With this addition, TopCats is now home to an incredible 44 different species, making us one of the most diverse fishing destinations you can visit.

Fun Fact: We were originally going to offer a prize for the first guide to land one of the new arrivals. However, “Tadpole” didn’t give anyone else a chance! She landed one just 24 hours after stocking (beautifully modeled by Nat in the photo below).

Why Variety Matters at TopCats

We don’t just stock fish for the sake of numbers. We do it to ensure that every time you cast a line at TopCats, you have the chance to catch something unique. Whether you are hunting for a massive Arapaima or trying to tick a Shovelnose Tiger off your bucket list, our goal is to keep the surprises coming.

Plan Your Next Session

The new Tigers are settled in and clearly hungry! If you want to be among the first to see that bluish sheen for yourself, now is the time to get your session booked.
