Kane wants to be a guide.
Kane from Manchester but been travelling in Australia visited us earlier in the year and vowed to return.
We welcomed him back this month on an epic 2 week stay where he took in 8 days and 2 separate half days fishing. It wasn’t all about the fishing, but it was all about the Topcats and Koh Samui experience.
Let’s start with the catch report. He fished most swims and had Juice as his trusty ghillie Iin the final reckoning he had 95 fish across 11 species.
Amazingly he had 8 (EIGHT) Arapaima topped off with an estimated 280lb monster that sadly was not pictured as it escaped during the photographic process. Other highlights were the Juliens Golden Carp caught on the same day as another one and he caught the Alligator Gar which was high up on his bucket list.
Kane was here on a budget, but we hired him a motor bike S&M rentals, so most evenings he was out at the night markets of Chaweng, Nathon, and Fisherman’s Village .
Most people thought that Kane was my son when we did a tour of a few of the local Lamai haunts, lady boxing at yo-yo’s bar, football at Woodies and some great food at Seventy Fahrenheit and the Black Olive Bar and Grill
He left us to stay in Lamai for a couple of days but was back 2 days later, this time just to help with guiding and all with no charge.
What an experience for the young man, he will be back and who knows maybe as a guide one day !
