Thailand Holiday and Fishing Experience
Long time Pallatrax team member, Neil Denton had been trying to come to TopCats for nearly 4 years, but various factors including Covid, and accidents postponed his visit up until now.
Staying with his wife, Kate, in one of our Suite Bungalows for 14 nights , he fished 8 days and prebooked one Arapaima session on TopCats Swim Number 9.
Niel was the life and soul of the resort, a great guest to have, nothing was a problem and he mixed with staying and visiting anglers alike. While he fished, Kate was to be seen relaxing in the bar or reading a book by the TopCats swimming pool.
I think it’s fair to say that Neil returned to a rainy Somerset a very happy man, after landing an amazing 123 fish across 13 species, some of which are pictured here , but his pride and joy was a 270lb Arapaima that came from the Coconut peg which he celebrated by buying everyone in the resort a drink. The other highlight came earlier in the holiday, his first 100lb fish, a beaut of a Mekong he caught from the Deep-Water Peg.
Neil was using moss green Gamma Line, Stonze, 60lb Steam link as tackle of choice. I saw various other Pallatrax pop ups and some very gooey glugs always out on his Sala as well.
