Julien's Golden Carp

Julien's Golden Carp

Also known as the Seven Striped Barb, the Julien’s Golden Carp is one of the most beautiful fish and also one of the most sought after fish in our lake. They are not only hard to catch, it’s well known that this native fish of Thailand does not feed all the time. The best time to catch them is after heavy rain but our guides can help you on the best tactics trying to catch them, although they have to be fished for with patience, with small baits and quite often in shallower areas of the lake.

When you do hook one you will know it. A lightning fast take and maybe even some acrobatics during the fight.

In the wild they can grow to over 100lb but here at TopCats we have 30 of them stocked up to 30kg (66lbs). This is possibly one of the largest in Thailand and a dream catch for any angler.
